The Foreign Press Association in Italy, was founded way back in 1912 by a group of foreign newspapers correspondents living in Rome. The Association passed through more than 90 years of Italian history, witnesing the events that have marked the country.

The F. P. Ass. In Italy is situated in the centre of Rome in via dell’Umiltà 83/c and is a professional landmark for the foreign newspaper correspondents in Italy giving them assistance and services.

The Head-office and staff operating by the foreign press are provided by the Ministry of Communications, I.T.L. as by law n° 416/81 art.28.

The foreign correspondents, have to their disposal a complete structure inwhich to carry autfor their work. In the present head office the correspondents have individual or collective working-places, each with telephone. In the headoffice there is also news from the main agencies, Italian newspapers and magazines, a small library provided of dictionaries, year-books and newspaper collections on Cd-rom, photocopy point and fax, internet access and a room for broadcasting and recordings.
The Conference Room, one of the most important in Rome, hosts many meetings during the week.
Whereas afternoon meetings are organized by the Association in the Reading Room with many political, economical, cultural and show-business personalities exclusively reserved to the associated members.

The Foreign Press Association in Italy is the biggest organization of foreign correspondents in the world. More than 800 information organisms, of 54 different countries, are represented by the members.
